I offer you a short & sweet poem, inspired by my deep love for ancient times. After spending time in Rome, Pompeii, and Athens, my mind often drifts back to times long ago.
The word ‘antiquity’ I believe is one of the finest, pregnant with mystery and wisdom. I hope this speaks to the remembering within you. 🪶
If you think I should make a spoken poem reel for this, leave a 🪶 below.

Heart of antiquity
high empires crumble to ash
A dream not to last
spiraling together
then out just as fast
Heart of antiquity
fragile crackling ice
forged by a fire
then relinquished from sight
splashes of secrets
melt into night
Heart of antiquity
the things it must know
Heart of antiquity
grasping for seed
from which we’ve been grown
Heart of antiquity
by which the present was sown
Heart of antiquity
so the future isn’t alone
Heart of antiquity
for what other words
could capture love
before it implodes
