Why I love having dirty hands

This is how I like my hands to look.

To me, dirty hands signify a day well lived.

A day in relation with the soil.

A day in alignment with nature.

A day in communion with soul.

As a girl, there can be pressure to have clean and ‘perfect’ nails. I’ve never been one to keep up with that.

I bite my cuticles to self-soothe (thanks mama), bite off broken nails…and fancy having dirt embedded under them.

That dirt is a reminder that I’m living the life that feels best for me.

One in relation with the soil.

One in alignment with nature.

One in communion with soul.

Mountains' Daughter acknowledges that we reside
on the land of the Lenape Natives, Lenapehoking.
I offer my utmost gratitude & respect
to the first peoples of the area.
May we return to living in balance
with our Mother once again.
